What Data is Collected & How

When browsing our web site, no personal information is collected, however; cookies track various items of information. This information does not specifically personally identify the individual using the site, rather the machine that is used. See Web Site Cookies below

If you subscribe to our News Letter we only retain your name and email address in order to send the newsletter in a more personalised manner. You can cancel this subscription at any time by click the unsubscribe link at the bottom of the newsletter – upon receiving an un-subscribe notice we delete the individuals name and email information and send a confirmation of cancellation.

If you purchase via our website we collect IP information, name, address, telephone number(s), email address and transaction details. Credit card information is handled via our payment processor (PayPal). Card details are not stored in our web database.

In cases where items are brought/sent to the shop for repair we record name, contact details (usually an email address will suffice), fault details and access information required to affect a repair.

In cases of purchases being made in the shop the transaction details will also be recorded including item model, serial number and purchase date.

In cases of subscription services such as anti-virus or cloud backups other information specific to the service may also be recorded.

How We Use Your Data

Information is retained in order to provide our customers with a complete support and after sales service including warranty tracking, repair tracking and history and ongoing support services. Your data is NOT passed to any third-party organisation(s).

Your Data Rights

The Computer Shop respects your rights and if you wish to view/review/change or delete this data please contact us in writing. Data requests may require proof of identity to protect the individual’s data from fraudulent access.

Data Retention

We will keep your personal information for as long as you're a customer. Dormant customer information will be deleted on a periodic basis or upon request.

The Computer Shop has electronic firewall, anti-virus and malware protection systems to protect your information as well as web access monitoring and suspicious activity detection systems. Internally access to information is limited to authorised personnel

Website cookies
